Jason Purgason has trained dogs and handlers at some of the most demanding law enforcement agencies in the country, both large and small. We can provide additional canines trained to your standards, set up customized in-service and re-training programs for your department to increase productivity or solve problems with your existing unit. Our training programs are some of the best in the nation, up to date, progressive, and taught for law enforcement handlers.

Our training differs from the majority of other trainers in that we stress real-life scenario based training, so that officers are prepared for what they are likely to encounter on the street. Included with the cost of any dog is a comprehensive handler course to fully integrate the dog and handler before putting them on the street. This course includes practical exercises as well as lecture on Record Keeping and Report Writing, Basic OdorTtheory, Advanced Detection and Interdiction Methods, Canine Case Law, Tactical Building Searches, Tactical Tracking, Canine First Aid and CPR, K-9 Care and Maintenance and many other topics. Literature and handouts are provided for all course content. Free in-service training and problem solving sessions are included with all working dog packages for the life of the dog. We offer on-site lodging for handlers attending training from out of town.

Highland Canine Training offers working dogs trained for Police Patrol, Narcotics Detection, Explosives Detection, Tracking / Trailing, Search and Rescue and Personal Protection. Our working dog programs are second to none. At Highland Canine Training, we strive to offer the finest working dogs imported from Europe. When you purchase a working dog from Highland Canine, you get a fully trained dog. Unlike other trainers, we do not present new handlers with a "green" or untrained dog and expect them to train their dog during a handler school that lasts only a few weeks. Our dogs are completely finished prior to the beginning of the handler school. Therefore, when the handler school begins, the only focus is teaching the new handler how to work with the dog.
