Police Patrol Dogs

Highland Canine Training, LLC is dedicated to providing the best police patrol dogs possible. We understand how important it is for police dogs to respond appropriately in the field. Therefore, we provide social dogs that are environmentally sound and have well balanced drives. All of our police patrol dogs are trained in off-lead obedience for complete control. Police dogs are also trained in the areas of practical agility, criminal apprehension, handler protection, tactical building searches, area and wooded searches, evidence/article recovery and trailing.

All of our police patrol dogs are trained based on your department's needs and specifications and can be cross-trained in either narcotics or explosives detection. Included with the price of the dog is a comprehensive four week handler course to fully integrate the dog and handler before putting them on the street. Free in-service training and problem solving sessions are included with all of our working dog packages.

Police Patrol Dog courses can be customized to fit departmental needs and are taught by current and former law enforcement handlers. The course includes practical exercises and lecture on topics such as Basic and Advanced Obedience, Record Keeping and Report Writing, Tactical Building Searches, Felony Vehicle Stops / High Risk Apprehensions, Tactical Tracking / Trailing, Establishing an Effective Perimeter for Patrol, Conducting Proper Demonstrations, Canine Case Law, Care and Maintenance and First Aid. Literature and handouts are provided for all course content.

Scenario Based Training

At Highland Canine Training, LLC we focus on realistic, scenario based training. We understand that it is necessary for each team to be prepared for real life situations in the field. During our handler courses and seminars we place our dog teams in life-like situations in order to test the skills of both the handler and canine as a team. We strive to deliver the most realistic police dog training available today. Scenario-based training is quite different than most other police dog training that is typically conducted. Scenario based training is just that; A real-life scenario where the handler is required to make judgements and decisions based on the facts and circumstances given to him and to direct his canine partner to respond appropriately. This training does not take place on a trial or training field, but in a realistic environment where police K9 teams work every day.

Services and Guarantees

We offer a two year health guarantee and include x-rays on all of our police patrol dogs.

Included in the price of any police patrol dog is a comprehensive, four-week handler school. Lodging and course materials are also included with the price of any police patrol dog.

Follow-up training is included in all of our police patrol dog packages at no additional cost. Training is available for as long as you own the dog.
