Dog Training Experience
"James,

I truly appreciate all that you have done with and for Radar. While being his foster mom for 3 months, he had behavioral issues that I was unable to break which made it hard for him to get adopted. In just this short time that you have worked with him, there is such a difference. While he is still his loving self, he has now become a dog that can be around children without worry. You have done wonders to make his life a happier one. I know he will be a great addition to his new family!"

Jermaine R - Mooresville, NC

When we brought our 4 month old puppy home from a rescue shelter, I knew we had an extreme timidity problem, but I also knew that nobody else would ever adopt this pup, fearful of life as he was. I'd trained all my other dogs, and felt that although Tiger would take alot of patience, I had the skill and love to help him become a happy, confident dog.

We worked for six months, and tried every trick in all the books I'd read, tv shows I'd watched, and classes I'd attended. Tiger slept in bed, became very affectionate, and loved us. We attended two clicker puppy obedience classes, and although he improved, strangers continued to cause him such severe stress, it was pitiful to watch. We tried everything to get him over his phobia of getting in a car, including feeding his meals in a car, but to no avail.

We missed him terribly while he went to James for rehabilitaion, but he is so vastly improved, better adjusted, and happier that it was well worth it. James let us know from the beginning that we would need to continue training when Tiger came home. On the now fewer and fewer occasions that Tiger regresses and momentarily shuts down from stress, James has taught us how to snap him out of it and remind him that Life Is Good.

We can entertain friends with no trauma for Tiger. He happily gets in the golf cart to run his daily nine holes, and jumps into the car to go new places with me. He eagerly goes to greet another dog rather than running in terror.

We are extremely grateful to James and his family.

He emphasizes to dog owners the importance of taking a leadership role with their dogs to establish a healthy, productive relationship.

The philosophy and techniques that James employs when teaching private lessons and other training classes is to ensure that the owner understands the training and is able to apply effective training and handling skills to any dog that they own or work with.

He also owns an Australian Shepherd that does herding work and James focuses on this herding training to incorporate obedience skills with the mental stimulation and physical challenges that are involved in herding.
